Growatt SPF 3500ES solar inverter 3.5kW 48V

The Growatt SPF 3500 ES inverter is the optimal choice for so-called island systems without an available distribution network - the unit can be connected to an electric generator and/or battery as a backup power source. It is a hybrid inverter with sinusoidal output ideal for domestic and small commercial systems. The built-in MPPT controller can handle up to a 4.5 kW PV array with a maximum blanking voltage of 450 _Voc. It can handle both lead acid and Li-ion batteries. Of course, there are RJ-45 ports for CAN/RS-485 communication with BMS of LiFePO4 module batteries of e.g. Pylontech, WECO, Seplos etc.

The inverter can also be operated without a battery provided that it is actively connected to the distribution network. In the SUB operating mode, the inverter monitors the load power and the power of the available PV source, and any missing part of the energy is replenished from the DS. The device allows the setting of a bypass, which in case of battery or PV array disconnection will connect the inverter output to the DS within 10 ms to avoid power interruption. It also supports UPS mode with a switchover to pure battery operation within 10 ms.

Up to a total system power of 30 kW can be achieved by connecting the inverters in parallel. The inverter can be retrofitted with a Wi-Fi/LAN communication module for remote control and monitoring.

When operating the inverter in Priority Solar mode and when operating without battery, the inverter behaves as a so-called "hybrid", there is the possibility of power overflows to the grid. To eliminate these overflows, use Battery Priority SBU mode, where the battery switches to by-pass when there is insufficient power.
