The sensomotor cushion is used for coordination and balance exercises on an unstable surface , e.g. balancing while standing one-legged on the sensory cushion, transferring body weight from leg to leg. It improves motor coordination in patients recovering from musculoskeletal injuries, increases the sense of stability in older people and reduces the risk of falls.
